    Comments, Additional Information, References

Prior owners listed on Maps: 1852: "E Woodward"; 1859: "T Farrell"; 1874: "Joseph Reed", 1904: "William H Reed".

Ownership passed from Joseph Reed to his son William H Reed and then to William's son Albert. Albert's son, John A, was the 3rd generation of the Reed family to own the farm, but not until 1976 when his father died at age 84. In 1955 he purchased his own farm, the Driscoll farm adjoining to the north (also with a cobblestone on it, see Man-7 John Reed House). John A. continued to work his father's farm in addition to his own. He modernized the buildings on his farther's farm with state of the art equipment, added silos, and installed modern milking equipment. Albert assisted in all phases of the farming operation until his death.
With the farm's infrastructure growing up all around it, in 1973 Albert had the cobblestone house torn down.

The House was located on the east side of CR 27, about 0.4 mile south of Field St. Modern farm buildings and acreage of the Reedland Farms LLC, now a Century Farm, now occupy the site. Joseph Reed's farm, started back in second half of the 19th century, is owned and operated by the 5th generation of the Reed family. Karen Crandall email 7/12/2021.
